I am both an artist and an archaeologist. Archaeology is not only about delving into the past to understand how things used to be. Like contemporary art, it also addresses present questions and concerns. Because archaeology has become a modern myth of discovery and disappearance, my creative practice works with the public archaeological imaginery. I am elaborating projects and installations at the crossroad of research and creation, mixing contemporary art with archaeology. In this vein I draw on 15 years of archaeological experience in research and fieldwork to develop original site specific installations and performance. My creative practice connects the past to the present and the future, and fiction to reality. My work is about origins, earth - ruins - landscape, material memory and myths, fiction and History.

Background and exhibitions

I have evolved from my universitary archaeological background (Ph.D) to develop a self-taught artistic practice. I am still doing research (Harvard University) but creation is without doubt my main activity. When exhibit my works are multimedia installations using photographies, videos, maps and objects. My works have been exhibited in Paris and New York.
